Non-urgent advice: Booking an appointment
Patients can book appointments into future clinics with all clinicians
Same day appointment requests
Should you require a same day appointment these requests will be booked on a first come first served basis. We now ask that these appointments are requested by submitting a request online. However, for those unable to go online, these can be requested via the telephone or in person at the practice.
Your request will be triaged by an appropriate clinician, who will decide if the request can be dealt with via telephone, textual response, or requires a face to face appointment.
If the patient cannot wait for the triage nurse to call, the GP/practice managing partner will decide as to whether the patient is to be put into a clinic more urgently.
The triage clinician will attempt to call the patient twice, if the call is missed on the second call the patient will be asked to rebook their appointment or alternatively go to the walk-in centre or call 111
Medicals will be booked via the Practice Manager
If you need assistance with or during your appointment the receptionist will arrange according to your requirements such as a specific clinician, interpreter or access or other communication needs.
Non-urgent advice: Cancel an Appointment
It is important that you inform the reception staff if you are unable to attend your appointment, this will allow that appointment to be offered to another patient. If you fail to notify the Practice that you are unable to attend, you will be sent a letter informing you that you have defaulted from your appointment. Persistent defaulters maybe removed from the list. You can also complete our appointment cancellation notification request form. This can only be used if your appointment has been arranged for more than 24 hours in advance. (excluding weekends and public holidays). You can also text to cancel your appointment or by submitting an online request.
Late For Your Appointment
Please attend your appointment on time, if you are late you may not be seen. If you are not seen you will not be able to rearrange your appointment until the next working day-except in the event of an medical emergency that requires immediate attention.
Interpreter
If you require an interpreter to attend with you when you are seen please notify the surgery in advance and we will arrange this for you.
Home Visits
If possible please try to telephone reception before 10:00 if you require a home visit.
A doctor or nurse may phone you back as it may be that your problem can be dealt with by telephone advice, or that it would be more appropriate to send a nurse, or indeed arrange a hospital attendance.
Home visits are only available for patients who are housebound because of illness or disability.
Please remember that several patients can be seen in the practice in the time that it takes to make one home visit. There are also better facilities for examining and treating patients at the Health Centre.
Text Reminder Service
We have a texting service which allows you to receive confirmation and reminders about your appointments.
To have this service you will need to register by completing a consent form.
Please remember to update your contact details with us when you change address, telephone numbers and email address.
